Healthwatch Somerset

Name: Healthwatch Somerset
Organisation: Healthwatch Somerset
Location: Woodland House, Woodlands Business Park, Bristol Road, Bridgwater, Somerset, TA6 4FJ
Type: Part Time

Description

Healthwatch Somerset has a statutory power that allows us to ‘Enter and View’ publicly funded health and social care premises to speak to people about their experiences. These visits are usually announced in advance but they can also can be unannounced if we hear things are not going well. Our ‘Enter and View’ Volunteers help us to conduct these visits and spend time talking to patients, carers and relatives and helping us report back on what we have found. This is a rewarding and specialist volunteering role for a confident, empathic and assertive person who enjoys interacting with members of the public. Our Authorised ‘Enter and View’ Volunteers might also like to represent us as a Local Healthwatch Volunteer in addition to this role.

Organisation Description

Healthwatch Somerset is the county’s independent health and care champion. We exist to ensure that people are at the heart of care.
Our dedicated team of staff and volunteers listen to what people like about local health & care services, and what could be improved. These views are then shared with the decision-making organisations in the county, so together we can make a real difference.
Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do, from talking to people about their experiences of local health & care services, to sitting on our board of directors. Whatever your background, your time and your talent could make a real difference in your local community.
