Frome FM produces a weekly programme for the Frome Talking Newspaper organisation. The production involves recording to high quality up to four 'readers' in our studios at the Town Hall, editing the two x 28-minute news reports to the correct length for distribution to blind and partially-sighted people in the region as well as a second version for transmission on Frome FM at midday, the next Saturday.
The version for the blind and partialy-sighted clients is distributed on memory sticks which we duplicate in the studio and pass on to the Frome Talking Newspaper organisers for posting.
We are looking for someone with recording, editing and technical skills to carry out this task on a regular basis - weekly or monthly. The task will take about 4 hours of your time, beginning at 2pm on a Thursday and finishing about 6pm when the editing and duplication is done..
Community Radio Station
An aptitude for technical audio work - recording, editing would be an advantage.
The ability to manage a studio recording session with up to 4 'readers', record sound to a broadcast quality and to be able to edit the programmes to length.
Specific training will of course be given..
The knowledge that through their efforts many blind and partially-sighted people in the area will be able to stay in touch with the local news.
Experience in sound recording and editing skills.
A calm, comfortable environment for a few hours on a Thursday afternoon!
